- 1 tablespoon raw sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon raspberry simple syrup
- 1/2 ounce lime juice
- 1 - 1/2 ounces gold or Blanco tequila
- 1 ounce Chambord Raspberry Liqueur
- ice
- splash of sparkling wine or Sangria
Rim a glass with raspberry simple syrup, and dredge the rim of the glass with raw sugar.
Add ice cubes to a cocktail shaker, add raspberry simple syrup, lime juice, tequila, and Chambord raspberry liqueur.
Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 30-seconds.
Fill the prepared glass with crushed ice, strain the cocktail into the rocks glass, and top off with sparkling wine. Serve.
How to make raspberry simple syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup raw sugar
- 1 cup fresh, ripe raspberries
Directions:
- Place a saucepan over med/high heat and combine all of the ingredients, use a potato masher to smash the raspberries to release the juice.
- Allow the mixture to come to a boil, and cook for 2 minutes, remove the saucepan from the heat source and place a tight-fitting lid on top of the saucepan.
- Allow the raspberry simple syrup to steep for 15-minutes.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a Mason jar-styled container.
- Store in the fridge, the raspberry simple syrup with keep up to 30 days.
- Use in some of your favorite cocktails or conjure handmade cocktails creations of your own.
