How to make Witch Crash Cupcakes
Halloween is next week, and we want to share these super cute Witch Cupcakes.
These festive and delicious Halloween cupcakes will melt in your mouth and give your family and friends a fright.
It’s also a fun cupcake for Halloween school parties, which kids will love!
And these colorful cupcakes are great for a Halloween party.
The best part of all, every piece of the cupcake is edible! From the Witch hat to the tootsie roll body.
What You Will Need
All Purpose Flour. Scoop the flour into the measuring cup and then level it off with the back end of a knife. You don’t want to add too much flour, which can dry out the cupcakes.
Granulated Sugar. This is going to add sweetness to the cupcakes without overpowering them.
Baking Powder. Make sure that your baking powder is active. This is going to help the cupcakes to rise properly as they bake.
Salt. The salt will help richen the chocolate flavor of the cupcake. If you use salted butter, omit this in the recipe.
Butter. Melted butter is what you will use. Don’t swap with margarine; butter is needed.
Canola Oil. You can also use vegetable oil if you want.
Sour Cream. I love using sour cream for baking. The sour cream will give you a more decadent and moist texture.
Milk. Eggs. Vanilla. Whole milk is excellent as it will give your cupcakes a richer flavor. Other essential ingredients are eggs and vanilla.
Sprinkles. I used purple, orange, and even green sprinkles.
Powdered Sugar. Make sure that if your powdered sugar has a lot of clumps, you run it through a strainer. This is going to be used for the frosting.
Candy Toppings. I used Oreo thin cookies, mini Tootsie rolls, a color of frostings, and pretzel sticks for making the witch topping for my cupcakes.

How to store cupcakes
Room Temperature. These cupcakes can store on the counter in an airtight container for 3-4 days. Or you can keep them in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Freezing. Feel free to freeze any cupcakes you don’t plan to eat right away. Just freeze properly, and the cupcakes will last 3-4 months in the freezer.
Then thaw them on the counter when you are ready to eat them about an hour before serving.
How full do you fill the cupcake liners?
You will aim to fill the cupcakes with about 2/3rds of the batter.
If you overfill, they can spill out as they swell as the cupcakes bake.
What if my tootsie rolls are pretty hard?
If your tootsie rolls are a bit hard, you can microwave them for 5-10 seconds at a time.
You just want it to soften up enough they are pliable for shaping. Don’t overcook, or they will melt.
Can I stuff these cupcakes?
Absolutely! Go ahead and cut out the center of the cupcake a bit, and then fill it with sprinkles, candy, etc.
Then place the top of the cupcake back on and frost it as you would normally.
Then you can serve up these stuffed cupcakes and let guests bite into a surprise.
Can I make these Witch cupcakes in advance?
Yes, you can make these a day before you want to serve up these witch cupcakes.
Store them in an airtight container on the counter until you are ready to serve to prevent the cupcakes from drying out.
Can I change up the flavor of the cupcakes used?
You can make any flavor of cupcakes you want.
A vanilla Halloween cupcake would be tasty, but even pumpkin would.
Make your cupcakes as you would like, or even buy cupcakes you can decorate!
Now you need to list all the ingredients (print out below) and head to the grocery store to get everything you need to make these Halloween cupcakes.
