Get ready to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with this party and candy board idea. I’m showing you how you can easily create your own St. Patrick’s Day party, as well as a fun St. Patrick’s Day candy board! Get the details down below.
St. Patrick’s Day Party + Candy Board
Yay, here comes another party idea! St. Patrick’s Day is less than a month away, and we’re ready to celebrate. Candy boards are uber-popular, and if you’re thinking about putting one together for St. Patty’s Day, here is one you can do! Not only are candy boards super festive and pretty to look at, but they are also SO easy to put together. While they are fun and festive, eating a ton of candy is not ideal. So, when you create these boards, be sure to have other items to serve at your party and make a smaller candy board.

Who’s feeling lucky? I know I let out a little squeal when I found this lucky mug at Home Goods. It’s no secret I love all things Rae Dunn (but I am far from being one of those crazy people, lol). When I started to find Rae Dunn St. Patrick’s themed items, I knew I had to add them to this party idea.
I’m sharing how I put together a fun and green St. Patty’s Day party. Don’t forget your St. Patty’s beads.
St. Patrick’s Candy Board
A few easy ways you can add pizzaz to your party is by creating a themed candy board. For this St. Patrick’s Day idea, I put together a candy board, using a variety of candy assortments, homemade themed sugar cookies, decorative items and supplies arranged all on a marble board.
Equipment For A Candy Board
The easy thing about creating a candy board is the minimal amount of equipment you’ll need. If you’re putting together a big board, then you’ll need a large round or rectangle size board. For this idea, I’m using a round marble tray I picked up from Home Goods a few months ago. I also used white ramekins to hold some of the candy. Breaking up a candy board with small bowls helps create separate areas around the board. For a little added theme fun, I used green shamrock cookie cutters to hold some of the candy.

St. Patrick’s Day Decor
If you’re planning a fun St. Patty’s party or thinking about ways to decorate your space for this holiday, here are a few things to keep in mind.
- Head to your party store to find inexpensive decorative items.
- You can also find holiday decor items at your local dollar store, typically for a few dollars. I picked up the St. Patrick’s Day beaded necklaces at the dollar store.
- I also look for themed decor items at stores like Home Goods, Target, and shopping online. (I was able to find the sign at TJMaxx.)
- Another way to add themed items is with Rae Dunn items. This year, Magenta and Rae Dunn released new items for St. Patrick’s Day.
- Be sure to grab themed napkins and colorful straws.
St. Patrick’s Day Balloon Garland
Another way to add some festivity to your party is with a St. Patrick’s Day balloon garland. A balloon garland is a fun idea, but a tedious process. I created my first balloon garland last year for a party, and it was a big hit. For a St. Patrick’s Day balloon garland, I purchased a kit with everything needed to create the balloon garland (note: this particular kit did not come with a balloon air pump. Here is one I recommend using.)
This balloon kit comes with:
- 70×12″ balloons(matte dark green, matte light green, pearl gold, matte white)
- 40×5″ balloons(matte dark green, matte light green, pearl gold, matte white)
- 2×18″ Shamrock balloons(dark green)
- 1× Shamrock garland
- 1×16ft balloon chain
- 1 roll of balloon glue
- You will also need to purchase a Dual-action balloon air pump
The tedious part about putting a balloon garland is filling the balloons. Once this part is completed, using balloon tape is where you’ll save a ton of time when creating the garland. You can follow the pattern on the photo, or create your own design with a mix of balloons. For my garland, I did not use all of the balloons in the kit, since I wanted to create a smaller scale garland.
When you add a balloon garland to your party, it becomes the main decoration. You don’t have to add a lot of decorative items. I added a small garland around this party space, as well as themed napkins, the candy board, and my Rae Dunn St. Patrick’s Day items.
St. Patrick’s Day Themed Food
The last thing you need for your party is the food. If you’re doing a themed party, you should have food items that go along with the theme of the party, but this can be optional. For our party, we included the themed candy board, as well as a St. Patrick’s Day Mocktail.
Our St. Paddy’s Day Mocktail is so versatile and refreshing and we got three ways to make kid-friendly and one adult version.
