Spicy Double Salmon Burger + Avocado Mayo + Caramelized Onions & Mushrooms
Tell me, how do you spend your summertime? Of course, if you’re like me your summer fun revolves around two main ingredients. Good food and good music! It’s no surprise to find that good music is tied to the food we love to eat. If you think about almost every party or get-together you have ever attended, there’s a pretty good chance both the food and music were there in healthy abundance. Because good music and even better food go together like peanut butter and jelly. No argument there, right? El Yucateco® also thinks this philosophy is true. You will find their products at select stadiums and The House of Blues.
Now let’s dig into this Salmon Burger recipe!
Our Spicy Double Salmon Burger + Avocado Mayo + Caramelized Onions & Mushrooms is only one-half of our hot fun in the summertime equation. The other part is the music but first, let’s decode this wonderful and delicious salmon burger!
You can’t have a respectable salmon burger without a handful of respectable hand-cut fries
In my humble opinion, if you are going to go the spicy route when it comes to creating good food, above all else there has to be a balance of heat and flavor. And our foodie friends over at El Yucateco® have created perfection in a 4-ounce bottle of El Awesomeness! Hands down the El Yucateco® line of hot sauces are without a doubt my favorite because naturally, they bring the heat but they also bring an earthy and robust flavor no other brand of hot sauces even come close to matching. It’s been almost three years, and I have yet to find a better hot sauce. Big. Bold. Flavorful. That’s what El Yucateco® hot sauces bring to the table. And it’s no wonder; this particular hot sauce is the #1 authentic habanero hot sauce!
Our spicy salmon burgers begin in the bottle! Any good recipe worth its salt has a solid foundation, and ours is no different. This recipe is built around flavor, and our big wallop of flavor starts with two ounces of El Yucateco® Black Label Reserve Hot Sauce (or you could use XXXTra Hot Habanero Hot Sauce!) But here’s the special and unique thing El Yucateco® does so well, they take 11,000 scovilles units of habanero heat and work in not just heat but intense flavor by the bucketful. El Yucateco® is the Cadillac of hot sauce royalty! If you’re looking for some of the best hot sauces, money can buy this is it, baby! The buck stops here! Now, I have tasted a lot of hot sauces (call me a bona fide hot sauce head), and while some are salty, or have too much heat and run short on flavor, some intermingle a cloying sweetness with an almost astringent flavor that’s off-putting, to say the least. But El Yucateco® is the first hot sauce that is well-balanced, with rich earthy goodness, and a robust presentation of rich heat. This is grown up hot sauce right here. Now, that is music to my ears!
building the ultimate summer music playlist
So, let’s talk about building the ultimate summer music playlist! The first thing you want to know when it comes to curating a playlist is knowing your crowd because knowing your crowd can stave off party mutiny. So, the first question to ask yourself is, “Who is coming?” Knowing who’s attending your little soirée will give you a pretty good idea on how to move the crowd. Check out my essential points to consider when selecting music:
know you crowd– who is coming will help you gauge how to craft your playlist. Most of us know our friends pretty well. So, playing music, they enjoy with help to ensure they’re enjoying themselves too!
age– is the crowd you’ve inviting multigenerational? Or are those guests primarily the same age? Knowing this can give you an idea if a certain type of music is more appropriate for your guests. And you also want to aware whether or not there will be minors at the party. Is this an all ages get together? Or are there other things to consider? Be careful, considerate and cautious when it comes to the lyrical content of the music you’re playing. You want to entertain, not offend.
music taste– what genre of music being played is a biggie. Knowing whether your friends are into hip-hop, rock, or jazz can ensure your party is a success and doesn’t hit a sour note.
mood– are you going for an all out head banger’s ball? Or do you want to put folks to sleep? The best bet is to find a sweet spot that keeps things moving along nicely.
objective-again, what is the end game? Because with the right music you can steer the party into the direction you want to go.
Following our tips can help you craft the perfect playlist!
