Create the ultimate popcorn bar for your next movie night in, game day watch party, awards party, birthday party, or upcoming celebration. A popcorn bar is a fun way to showcase a variety of popcorn flavors in unique and creative ways. We teamed up with G.H. Cretors® Popped Corn to create a unique popcorn bar in this sponsored post.
The Ultimate Popcorn Bar
As we approach the biggest, baddest, and most frustratingly awesome football-i-est event of the year, we decided it would be a fun idea to create a popcorn bar, showcasing a variety of ways you can eat popcorn!! Plus, we kinda sorta gravitate towards any excuse to party. Not that we’re bonafide party animals, far from it. Not rock stars parties for us, much more subdued than rock stars party. Believe when I say no self-respecting rock stars would be caught dead at our parties, until now. Because it is my belief anyone and everyone loves popcorn! And what’s better than popcorn? A popcorn bar that’s what?
As parents of three coming-of-age boys, we like to create environments where we can all indulge in some good food and have a great time! And sporting event get-togethers are more often than not the perfect venue in which to let loose just a smidgen. So, here’s what we did. First, we divided up our tasks. We each assigned ourselves very specific responsibilities.
Tat’s job is to pull together a tablescape and decor for the party. While I get down in the kitchen by cooking and creating good things to eat and drink. Don’t we make an awesome team?!
I’m Tatanisha, and I co-host a pretty awesome party. Come join us!
Yup, just like my glass says, it is 5 p.m. somewhere. And although I am indulging in an alcohol-free mocktail don’t think I don’t know how to have a good time.
For this party snack, we added chocolate candies, mini-pretzels, and G.H. Cretors® The Mix. It’s so easy to make but so freakin’ good!
Our Ultimate Popcorn Bar has something for just any and everyone! We got chicken wings from our favorite delicatessen, mini-cupcakes from a local bakery, we just added the little football flags!
Like most busy parents we don’t always have the time to make everything homemade. But we make it work with yummy snacks, and one of our favorite go-to brands has got to be G. H. Cretors popcorn!
We tried three G.H. Cretors® Popped Corn flavors: the mix, buffalo & ranch, and cheese lovers.
Overwhelming, the mix flavor was our favorite, with the newest flavor to the G.H. Cretors family, buffalo & ranch coming in second place. However, one of the twins contested that the cheese lovers flavor was the best.
So, you see, there’s a popcorn flavor for everyone to enjoy. And when you’re using simple, yet high-quality ingredients to make a variety of scrumptious popped corn, you can understand why G.H. Cretors is one of the best.
A family-owned business, currently at five generations strong, each and every kernel of their popcorn is prepared to be obsessively delicious and will keep you obsessively coming back for one more mouthful. And the best way to keep you coming back for more is in our ultimate game day popcorn bar! You can learn about each flavor, products, and recipe ideas by visiting their website.
Tips on creating a popcorn bar:
- Have a variety of popcorn. What’s the fun in having ONE popcorn flavor? Switch it up a bit by giving your guests options. Use G.H. Cretors Popped Corn, and you will be set with their variety of delish flavors.
- Showcase your popcorn in a variety of ways. For our popcorn bar, I used random glass jars to hold the popcorn. And since this is a game day party, I also put popcorn in small themed bowls and football popcorn bags.
- You can get super crafty and creative with your decor theme. However, if you want to save time, buy premade party kits that come with all of your themed items. This is what I typically do 99% of the time.
- I also decided to purchase additional snacks to have at the popcorn bar. {another way to save time as well. However, if you want to make your own chicken wings, check our bangin’ chicken wings recipe.}
- Label the popcorn. Just in case anyone is allergic to certain ingredients; it’s always a good idea to label your food.
- Make sure when you’re creating your set-up, each item is accessible for your guests. You don’t want them reaching for an item in the back and accidentally knock over other items.
- Use themed paper products as much as possible. This always makes for an easy clean-up.
I also added squishy footballs and other football-related treats. Guests can take them home as a party favor.
Find fun ways to showcase your popcorn. We decided to add cups on the wall for a unique way to display our popped corn.
For the water bottles, I used black + white labels picked up from a party store. I inserted a football toothpick in each bottle.
Derrick here. You can turn up your popcorn bar with a drink or two. I created a mocktail, as well as a bloody mary. To keep things easy for you, the host, it may be less stressful to have one signature drink. For our game day party, we’re cheering on our team with a bloody mary. And for the kids and non-drinkers, we have a mocktail drink.

If you want to up the ante on your popcorn bar, create a signature recipe with popcorn in it. Using G.H. Cretors The Mix Popped Corn, I came up with a Popcorn S’Mores Dessert. Our boys and the wife loved it. I have to admit, I’m diggin’ it as well.

Why have I never thought of a popcorn bar. I make some really good popcorn besides the normal type. Just did some chunky chocolate popcorn for our family movie night the other day. I have to say that I’ve never tried that brand before but will now have to look into it.
