Have you ever tried peppermint stick cream frozen pie? It is a chocolate cookie crust mixed with pretzels—topped with a peppermint stick ice cream that gets transformed into a pie.
Peppermint Stick Ice Cream Frozen Pie
For this peppermint stick ice cream frozen pie, we’re using Hudsonville’s peppermint stick ice cream; it’s so good! They have a lot of incredible flavors, and we love that they are also from the Midwest. Peppermint is such a refreshing flavor, and when you pair it with chocolate, it becomes the perfect match. If you, too, have a love for peppermint, give this no-bake dessert a try.
What If I Don’t Have White Chocolate Covered Pretzels
Suppose you don’t have the dipped pretzels. Go right ahead and skip and do just Oreos. You can even buy an Oreo crust if you don’t want to make your own. I love the sweet and salty from the dipped pretzels. But they are not a must. It just adds some tasty flavor to the pie!
How to Make Peppermint Stick Ice Cream Frozen Pie
Crust. Start by taking Oreos and Pretzels and pulse them in a food processor. You want it to become crumbly. Mix with your butter and press down into your pie pan. You will then chill the dough in the freezer for 30 minutes.
Ice Cream. Take your crust out and spoon your ice cream into the pie crust. Spread around to make it even.
Toppings. Top with cookie crumbles, pretzels, crushed candy canes, etc., then place the pie into the freezer to let it set up for at least three hours or overnight.
Slice. Once the pie has set up, you can slice and serve up a delicious peppermint pie!
Can I Use A Premade Graham Cracker Crust
If you want, you are more than welcome to reach for a premade graham cracker crust. If you don’t want the chocolate’s twist, the graham crust will work just the same.
Can I Make This In Advance
Go right ahead and make this a day or two in advance when you plan to serve it up. If you want the toppings to stay crunchy, don’t put them on until right before you go to serve.
Since the ice cream has to set up once you assemble it, I always recommend making it at least one day in advance to ensure it is set and will give you that perfect slice.
Topping Ideas for No-Bake Pie
- Crushed Oreos
- Chocolate covered pretzels
- Candy canes
- Chocolate syrup or fudge
- Whipped cream
- A drizzle of melted chocolate
- Sprinkles
- Etc
How Long Will Pie Store In Freezer
When stored properly, you can expect your pie to keep for 2-3 months in the freezer. I always recommend placing the pie further back on the shelf. This will help eliminate temperature change when you open and close the freezer, preventing ice crystals from forming on top of the pie.
