Peach Bourbon Smash
Things are peachy keen over this way!
We’ve gone and made our best peach-inspired cocktail two ways.
First up, our Peach Bourbon Smash is made with a good bourbon or your favorite whiskey.
Fresh peaches are cooked for 10 minutes, then muddled.
Peach syrup kicks the peach flavor up a notch. Then we added fresh mint and freshly squeezed lemon juice and topped with ginger beer or ginger ale.
It’s so refreshing, and it will have you reaching for another. No cap!
Next up, our Virgin Peach Smash is perfect for non-drinkers and anyone who loves a good drink.
This little number is made with Seedlip Grove 42 Citrus non-alcoholic mixer, peach syrup, fresh basil or mint, just-squeezed lemon juice, and topped with ginger beer or ginger ale.
Both use sweet, ripe peaches and fresh herbs and drink more like a good time in a frosty glass!
What You Will Need:
Bourbon or Whiskey. Whether to make this cocktail with or without bourbon depends on your preference. Either works, so do you!
Seedlip Grove 42 Citrus. We have been fans of Seedlip products for over 2-years now, and mixers are a delicious way to make respectable, non-alcoholic drinks shine! Trust!
Peaches. For this recipe, we boil the peaches for 10 minutes, peel them, and remove the stone. Cooking the peaches does two things we love: first, it enhances the sweetness of the fruit. Second, it softens the fruit and makes it easier to muddle.
Peach Syrup. Using peach syrup adds more peach flavor, which is what we are after because a good peach smash should have many peachy flavors, understand?
Lemon Juice. Adding lemon juice adds acidity, cuts through the sweetness, and balances the flavors of the drink.
Fresh Mint or Basil. I love adding fresh mint or basil to summer cocktails; regardless of your choice, you can’t go wrong!

How to boil a peach
Boil ½ a peach in water for 1–2 minutes until slightly softened.
Remove the skin and pit. Skip boiling if using a very ripe peach.
What if I don’t like ginger?
Swap ginger beer for sparkling water, club soda, or lemon-lime soda for a milder taste.
Can I make this without peach syrup?
Yes! For sweetness, substitute honey, agave, or simple syrup.
If using fresh peaches, a homemade peach purée can also work.
What’s the best type of mint or basil to use?
Spearmint is the classic choice, but sweet basil offers a unique, herbal twist. You can also mix both!
Do I have to cook the peach?
No, but cooking softens it, enhances sweetness, and makes it easier to muddle.
If using a ripe, juicy peach, you can skip this step.
Can I use frozen or canned peaches?
Yes! If using frozen peaches, thaw first.
If using canned, choose peaches in juice (not syrup) and drain before muddling.
What is Seedlip Grove 42?
Can I use something else?
Seedlip Grove 42 is a non-alcoholic spirit with citrus notes and one spirit we love to use in our mocktail recipes.
If unavailable, you can also use a non-alcoholic bourbon alternative or fresh orange juice for a fruity twist.
One bourbon spirit we recommend is SPIRTLESS Kentucky 47.
