Manwich Nachos Supreme With Homemade Tortillas
Meal Planning. Do you do it?
I try. I really try. I sit down on Sundays with the latest batch of grocery ads in hand and pour over the sales. The husband is the cook in our house, I manage the budget, and together we collaborate to come up with meal ideas for the week. I especially love when our local grocer has meat on sale, and when ground beef is on sale, I kind of do a little dance. Buying ground beef is more practical for our family because of its versatility. My husband uses “ground B” as the central ingredient in a lot of good things we like: his wonderful savory meatballs and spaghetti, bacon-wrapped meatloaf, and several Mexican dishes that we all love.
Our kids LOVE Sloppy Joes. I love them because they taste good, and they are EASY to make! My husband loves them too because he is the one making them. They also have that deliciously sweet and tangy taste that is pretty hard to resist. However, our family cook likes to switch things up. We are big nacho fans, so why not try it with Manwich? And so we did, and the result was a certified OMG!
Our meal planning week starts on Mondays, so coming up with an excellent Manwich Nachos Supreme recipe was a terrific way to kick off the week!
So, today I’m sharing our family recipe with you guys and gals. The Manwich Nachos Supreme is a fun, delicious, no fork meal. The Kid-Stopping Power of Manwich makes meals a yummy-licious treat that’s enjoyed by everyone. And with the homemade tortillas chips, resistance is futile, because it is flavor packed with so many good things everyone loves.
Manwich has three different varieties: Manwich Original, Manwich Bold, and Manwich Thick & Chunky. You can read more about their products here.

Ingredients You’ll Need To Make This Manwich Nachos Supreme
- 1 can of Bold & Spicy Manwich
- A 2-pound package of ground beef
- 1 red onion, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 green tomato, sliced
- 6 -8 grape tomatoes, whole
- 2 Anaheim peppers, sliced lengthwise into quartered sections
- 8 medium flour tortillas, quartered
- olive oil
- coarse sea salt or Kosher salt, to taste
- freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- 1 avocado
- 1 package of cream cheese
- 1 cup Mexican cheese, shredded, divided
Directions:
1. In a skillet, add a tablespoon of olive oil, when the skillet is hot, add sections of quartered flour tortillas and brown on both sides. Place browned tortillas on a plate with a paper towel. When all flour tortillas are brown and crisp, set aside and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
2. Brown ground beef and drain off excess grease, add Bold Manwich and stir well until meat and Manwich are combined. Set on low heat to keep warm. (Manwich has no meat!)
3. In a skillet add a 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil, when oil is hot blister quartered sections of peppers. Place on a plate with a paper towel. Set aside.
4. In a food processor, add one (1) package of cream cheese. 1/2 cup of Mexican shredded cheese and the flesh from one (1) avocado and pulse until smooth, add one (1) tablespoon of olive oil and pulse again. Place mixture in a small bowl. Set aside.
5. Arrange crispy tortilla nachos on a plate and spoon Manwich seasoned ground beef over nachos. Add remaining 1/2 cup of shredded Mexican cheese and drizzle with olive oil. Dinner is now served!
Our family sat down with one huge plate of Manwich Nachos Supreme and dug in. While eating, we talked about our day. Who had homework? Zayd ’n’s first football game and shared a few laughs about Goku (our wee bit of a Boston Terrier) trying to catch a fly (he was amused, curious, and scared all at the same time). Yes, I love when an easy and delicious meal allows us to have quality family time together. And because this is a much-valued family time, that means total “black-out” time, which means no phones or gadgets at the dining room table. Because this is time for us to connect as a family, no distractions are allowed. Oh, and the food. The food is always important, but when it is delicious, everyone is happy. Thank you, Manwich!
