Disney’s The Lion King arrives in theaters this week, and we’re sharing new products you need to check out, as well as a The Lion King Theme Party idea.
Disney’s The Lion King is in theaters July 19th! The Lion King is one of our favorite movies to watch as a family, and you can’t help but get up and dance to Hakuna Matata! And if you’ve been following us on social media, you saw Tatanisha out at The Lion King premiere and red carpet event. She had a blast, meeting celebrities, and enjoying a fun after-party which featured some of the things we are going to talk about below!
To celebrate the release of The Lion King, Disney has partnered with Walmart to host The Lion King events in select Walmart stores. These events are taking place throughout the weekend of 7/19, and you can check to see if your local store is participating here.
If your store is participating, you will be able to take home a limited edition Disney’s The Lion King movie poster (while supplies last). As well as have fun creating themed crafts, checking out exclusive toy demos and tons more fun! While at the event, Tatanisha had a chance to create some fun crafts and get the first look at the Walmart exclusive Disney’s The Lion King toys (the three Walmart exclusive toys featured below will be on display), so it’s something you don’t want to miss (if your store is participating).

We purchase quite a few of the Walmart exclusive The Lion King products during our shopping trip, and we highlighted a few below.
One item every kid will love is The Lion King Deluxe Figure Set. It features all the characters, which is important when you want to replay the movie. This set includes Simba, Nala, Rafiki, Timon, Pumbaa, Zazu, Young Simba, Young Nala, Mufasa, Scar, Vulture, and Hyena. It’s great for kids ages 3+, and they come with dynamic poses. Some of our favorite characters from the movie are Zazu, Timon, Pumbaa, and Young Nala and Young Simba. If you’re a collector, this deluxe set is one you will want in your collection.
Another product we had to get was the plushes, The Lion King Kissing Plush – Simba & Nala. Made with super-soft fabrics, these 10″ plushes are great for kids and collectors. Plus, if you’re kids are into collecting plushies, they will want to add this set to their collection. You can even press their mouths together, and they connect like they are kissing; talk about can you feel the love tonight!
This is going to be a super popular choice: The Lion King Roaring Simba Plush. In the movie, we saw Simba trying hard to work on his roar, and this toy features young Simba roaring! It’s super soft, standing 12″ tall, and when you press his paw, he will roar and move his head up and down. This is such a cute toy, perfect to buy now for a birthday gift or put up for Christmas.
So many great choices! And the fun doesn’t stop there. There are so many fun Disney’s The Lion King products, including grocery items, like Go-Gurt Strawberry/Berry 24 count and General Mill’s Honey Nut Cheerios! You will also find other cereal varieties included, marked in special themed boxes as pictured above.
Get ready to celebrate Disney’s The Lion King, in theaters this week by having a party! We love having parties around here, and a movie release is just an excuse to celebrate. Walmart carries The Lion King themed decor + party supplies, as well as cupcakes and everything else you need to celebrate. It’s your party’s one-stop-shop-store!

To create a fun The Lion King themed party, you can head to Walmart to find paper products, decor, themed balloons, and more. You can also use the specially marked food items, such as the GoGurt + General Mills cereal to serve as snacks at your The Lion King party. You can also order themed cupcakes + cakes from Walmart to go with your party!
