This easy Halloween Recipe everyone will love. It’s a fun treat for a Halloween treat for the classroom-Halloween Kitty S’more Trifle recipe.
Halloween Kitty S’more Trifle
With Halloween just right around the corner, I’ve been working on coming up with different Halloween treats instead of the boxed treats from the store.
In a hurry, I would grab those and not give them a second thought.
I love quick and easy. And 90% of the desserts posted will always be super easy.
I love to cheat on making recipes as well. Recipe cheating means taking a little boxed and mixing it with made from home with love. It’s the best of both worlds.
If you’re looking for a recipe that will WOW the kids, but something you can do QUICKLY, then this EASY Halloween Kitty S’more Trifle will be perfect for you to make for a Halloween treat.
This is also a great recipe for that upcoming Halloween classroom party that you’re dreading ……. what do I make?
So grab these ingredients and get started!
Halloween Kitty S’more Trifle Ingredients
- 48 Chocolate Creme Kitty Peeps (if making 12 mini trifles – this recipe will make approximately 12)
- 2 cups of graham cracker crumbs (I place graham crackers in a large Ziploc and use a rolling pin to crush them)
- 1 container of chocolate syrup to pour over the trifles.
Cupcake Ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup of butter, softened to room temperature
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 tsp. white vinegar
- 1 1⁄2 cups of flour
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/3 cup of cocoa powder
Directions for Halloween Kitty S’more Trifle
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease 12ct. cupcake tin.
- In a medium bowl, combine the 1⁄2 cup of softened butter, 2 eggs, milk, sugar, and vinegar. Beat until smooth.
- Mix the flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder in a separate bowl. Mix well and slowly.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients stirring until smooth and all lumps are gone.
- Pour the batter evenly into the cupcake tin and bake for 19-21 minutes. Around 19 minutes, insert a clean toothpick into the cupcakes, and if it comes out clean, they are done.
- Let cool completely before assembling your trifles.
Assembling the Trifles
- Place four Kitty Peeps around the perimeter of the mini trifle dish facing them outward. Four is the perfect number, and they will be able to touch and support themselves.
- Once the cupcakes are completely cooled, use your fingers or a butter knife and rip them apart one at a time. The cupcake pieces will fill in the middle section of your trifle dish. You could even use some to layer the bottom of your dish if you’d like. It doesn’t have to be perfect.
- Pour the graham cracker crumbs into the sides of the Ghost Peeps.
- Use the chocolate syrup as a topping, and enjoy! Easy!
*Note, each trifle uses a little less than 1 cupcake, so you may have some leftovers.
