When you go to Disney, visit Black Spire and use this Galaxy’s Edge to-do list for everything awesome in this unprecedented galactic adventure.
Galaxy’s Edge To-Do List: Everything You Need to do on Batuu
There is so much to do when you visit Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland. When it opens in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it will be nearly identical. That’s because Batuu is a real place in StarWars lore and it should be the same wherever you experience it. When you go to Disney, visit Black Spire and use this Galaxy’s Edge to-do list for everything excellent in this unique galactic adventure.
I’ll be the first admit, I am still green in my knowledge about all things Star Wars, but you don’t have to be a Star Wars fan to go to Galaxy’s Edge. I loved all the details, and based on what I’ve seen in previous movies, Disney did a fantastic job creating Batuu.
Galaxy’s Edge to-do List:
Roleplay
- Create a profile on the Play Disney Parks app and choose Resistance, First Order, or Scoundrel.
- Talk to the residents on Batuu. They all have stories to tell that deepen the level of immersion in Galaxy’s Edge.
- Scan cargo with your Datapad. You can use this function on your mobile app to complete jobs and get credits.
- hack control panels for your side to help gain control of Black Spire Outpost.
- Use your datapad to translate alien writing all over Batuu.
- Use your Datapad to spy on satellite frequencies in Batuu.
- Help Rey, Chewy, and Vi in their struggle against the First Order.
- Have a run-in with Kylo Ren or the First Order Stormtroopers.
Refreshments
- Try the Outpost Mix at Kat Saka’s Kettle. Do this on your way in, because you will want to pick up more on the way out.
- Try non-Cantina beverages. Enjoy some Moof Juice or a Tatooine Sunset. Almost all of the drinks in Galaxy’s Edge are specially made concoctions. Even the bottled beverages have a unique souvenir worthy design.
- Enjoy a Ronto Wrap from Ronto Roasters in the Black Spire Outpost.
- Go to the Milk Stand near First Order Cargo for a taste of milk from Bantha or Thala-sirens.
Oga’s Cantina
- Listen in for Oga as you near her Cantina. Her voice is audible from above the establishment. Use the Datapad to translate her speech.
- Play sabacc in Oga’s Cantina. Although there are a two-drink maximum and a 45 minute time limit due to space, the intricately themed atmosphere of Oga’s cantina is ideally suited for a “friendly” game of sabacc. {make sure you make a reservation- that’s the only way you can get into Oga’s Cantina!}
- Get a selfie with DJ R3X, the disgraced pilot droid from Star Tours.
- Try Oga’s Obsession while at the Cantina. It’s a strange provision made from Odwalla lemonade, cotton candy flavor, and blueberry.
- Count the creatures in the Cantina. Some of the drinks from the bar use ingredients from these strange alien life forms.
- Make new friends in the Cantina and bond over Star Wars Fandom (Because space is small and the venue is popular, you may be placed with another party).
- Leave the Cantina with a memorable Souvenir. Order the Cliffdweller (non-alcoholic) for a Porg cup, or a Yub Nub to get an Endor cup to bring back to Earth. The Rancor beer flight also comes with a souvenir board and Rancor teeth.
- Go to Oga’s Cantina in the morning for a special breakfast menu. Get the full-sized Mustafarian Roll for Breakfast at Oga’s Cantina and enjoy it with a morning cocktail.

Millennium Falcon
- Look for Chewbacca near the Millennium Falcon.
- Take on all three roles on Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run. You and five other passengers in the cockpit will have three jobs during the challenge. Take on the roles of Pilot, Gunner, and Engineer, and achieve success to improve your reputation among Black Spire residents.
- Work for Hondo while you wait to fly the Millennium Falcon. Hondo Ohnaka of Ohnaka Transport Solution has jobs that you can take on before you even set foot in the Millennium Falcon Cockpit.
- Ride Millenium Falcon Smugglers Run day and night. For the first time in Disney history, there are two different experiences based on the time of day to help reinforce the suspension of disbelief as you role play on Batuu.
Shop
- Discover the hidden workshop at Savi and Son Salvage. That is where you will learn about the Force from Gatherers, who will assist you in building a lightsaber for yourself. There are four style categories to choose from, and you get to pick your parts to assemble.
- Buy kyber crystals from Dok Ondar. You choose your lightsaber color in Savi’s workshop, but you can collect other kyber crystals at the Hammerhead alien’s den of antiquities.
- Build your droid sidekick at the Droid Depot. You can even pick the personality of your droid, and it will interact with the environment in Black Spire.
- Shop for local crafts in the Black Spire marketplace for an authentic Batuu souvenir.
- Get in-world toys and games to bring back to Earth at the Toydarian Toy Maker. While you are there, watch for the titular Toydarian to appear behind closed doors in her workshop.
- Stop at the Creature Stall to adopt a pet you may recognize from the Star Wars universe.
- If you’re a mug person like myself, then selecting one of the many mugs to take home as a souvenir is a must! I decided to go with a stormtrooper mug because of the black and white design.
Watch the fireworks from Galaxy’s Edge
While everyone still thinks the castle is a great spot to catch the fireworks at Disneyland (it is), a new spot has emerged. And this spot is still unknown to a lot of people, so you should be able to get a good spot.
Watch the fireworks while you’re in Galaxy’s Edge. It’s an amazing way to capture the Millennium Falcon, while dazzling fireworks pop off in the sky.
There’s so much to do in Galaxy’s Edge, but I believe you can get it all done in one visit. If you’re going on a peak day, it may be harder to get things done, but not impossible.
