How To Make Forky Cookies from Toy Story 4

Chance wants to let you know that Toy Story 4 is now available on  4K Ultra HD™, Blu-ray,™ DVD, and it is the perfect time to make Forky cookies. Forky is one of the newest characters in the Toy Story series, and he’s pretty popular and funny!

{Thank you, Disney, for the Toy Story products}

“In “Toy Story 4,” when Bonnie finds herself all alone during kindergarten orientation, Woody just has to help—even if it means digging through a trash can to retrieve a few art supplies for his kid. The effort is a resounding success, but when Bonnie’s beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky, declares himself trash and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy. “Forky is like a newborn,” says producer Mark Nielsen. “He doesn’t know anything about life—he doesn’t even understand why he’s alive or what a toy even is. He makes Woody vocalize what it means to be a toy.”

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together butter, sugar, egg and vanilla extract. Set aside.
  2. In a smaller bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add dry ingredients into a large bowl of wet ingredients. Knead once you see the cookie dough taking shape.
  4. Once the cookie dough takes shape, wrap in plastic and refrigerate for a minimum of 30 minutes.
  5. Once the 30 minutes is up, remove the dough from the fridge.
  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  7. Sprinkle a clean working surface with flour. Also, add flour to a rolling pin.
  8. Roll out the cookie dough until it’s about ¼ of an inch thick.
  9. Cut out the Forky-inspired shapes from the printable.
  10. Place the paper shapes on top of the rolled out dough and use a paring knife to trace it out on the dough to achieve the same shape.
  11. Repeat until you have 12 Forky-shaped cookies. Place each one gently on the lined baking sheet. *There may be leftover cookie dough, so wrap it up in plastic and save in the fridge for up to a week!
  12. Bake for 6-7 minutes and allow to cool completely before decorating.

To assemble one cookie:

  1. Use a toothpick to dot decorating frosting on the back of two candy googly eyes. Secure on the cookie.
  2. Roll out a small strip of red fondant and place over on the top of the eyes – these will act as the unibrow.
  3. Roll out a small strip of blue fondant and give it a circular shape. Place it just underneath the eyes – this will act as the mouth.
  4. Roll out a red fondant sphere, about ½ an inch in size.
  5. Roll the fondant sphere into a thin, long strip, about 6-7 inches in length, and loop both ends.
  6. Center the red fondant strip on the body of the cookie.
