What’s in your wallet? Wait, this is not the Capital One commercial. Today, I’m sharing the essentials to keep in your purse.
Eight Essentials To Keep In Your Purse
We’ve probably all played the “what’s in your purse” game a few dozen times in our lives.
If you’re not familiar with this game, don’t fret your pretty little head since you’re not missing ONE thing!
You dump your purse out and see if it matches up with what the game host is calling out.
Do you have a pen?
Yes.
Do you have a bobby pin?
Yes, like 10!
Do you have pads?
Yup.
Do you have lipstick or chapstick?
Double yes.
And so forth.
Now, you know how to play.
For the most part, there are certain things in my purse that are a MUST have!
- Something for my lips. My lips cannot be dry. It would be a shame. A crime. My lips would go on strike if they didn’t stay moist at all times. So, thankfully, I keep at least one tube of ChapStick Total Hydration. Yes, I have other lip gloss sticks in my purse, but this ChapStick seems to work the best. It’s also 100% Natural, and advanced nourishing formula with argan oil and avocado butter and rose hip oils.
A few other great things about the ChapStick Total Hydration:
100% Natural
Age defying
Advanced nourishing formula with argan oil and avocado butter and rose hip oils
Instantly smooths and moisturizes
Visibly renews lips
With omega 6 & 9
Clinically proven healthier looking lips
2. Pads. Like seriously. You just never know when that time of month slips up, and you forgot all about it. Yup, I’m bad with keeping track of when it was the “last time” and when it’s supposed to come again. It’s like that unwanted visitor that keeps coming back. Why can’t she just send me an email that says, “you’re not pregnant, you’re good to go this month?”
3. Pens. I have about five or six pens in my purse at all times, and all different colors. Hey! You never know when you may have to sign a Bill. Or a check. Or several papers from school all at the same time.
4. Bobby Pins. And even when I put them in my purse, they STILL disappear! How? Just HOW!
5. Advil Vials. For those little headaches and PMS moments! Nothing’s stronger, longer lasting or better on your tough aches and pains than Advil, and nothing works on more pains than Advil (among OTC pain relievers).
6. Spare change. You never know when you will have to feed the meter, the kid wants to ride the .1 cent pony, or they need snack money for school.
7. Stuff to help you stay well. I like to keep a few oils on me, as well as vitamins. It’s that time of year where everyone is getting sick, and I need to keep my immune system healthy. I keep vitamins like the Centrum VitaMints and Emergen-C Immune + Chewables on hand. I hand them out to the boys. It’s important to be healthy in every aspect of our lives.
Benefits of using Centrum VitaMints:
- New Centrum VitaMints are adult multivitamins with a refreshingly minty taste you can take/enjoy any time of day with or without food or water.
- No chalky taste, just cool mint flavor
- Introducing a refreshing new way to get your vitamins
- Essential Vitamins. Minty Taste!
Benefits Emergen-C Immune+ Chewables
- More Healthy Days, More Healthy Nights
- “Let Your Healthy Out”
- Immune support
8. Hand Sanitizer. Yes, hand sanitizer is just a must. Do I really need to explain why?
And of course, there’s the obvious debit cards, money, driver’s license and other important papers.
I stopped by my local Walmart to pick up my purse essentials. Thankfully, they had everything I needed right in one shopping trip, with all of them over in the healthy, hygiene area! {be sure to look on the end caps, since some of these items are new!}
There are also times that I don’t like to carry a purse, so I keep a small wallet with mini-versions of all the items listed above. These are my eight essentials to keep in my purse!
What are yours? Leave me a comment and let me know below!
And no, we’re not playing the purse game.

ChapStick is always in my purse, on my nightstand, in my bathroom – everywhere. I can’t stand for my lips to get dry. These are all great essentials to have in your purse.
Shell says
I have all of those hanging around, but I can’t say that they all end up in my purse. We think alike though, because bobby pins are essential!
Jenn @ EngineerMommy says
These are great essentials to always have on hand. I always keep my phone, chap stick and some snacks with me!
Jelli says
I’m terrible about stocking my bag (usually it’s a diaper bag, not a purse…we’re in that stage of life) with the necessities. Sometimes I forget wipes for my own baby’s bum and wind up using damp paper towels. Oops. When I’m on my A-game I usually stock lip balm and band-aids for sure.
Lisa says
I’m with you. Something for my lips is a must. And Advil because you never know when a headache will strike.
Amanda says
I (almost) always have these too. And headache medicine. There is nothing worse than one creeping up on you!
Angelic Sinova says
Yes, yes and YES! I can’t go anywhere without a pen, my planner, some chapstick and of course my phone! I never thought to always keep advil on you but I can definitely see how that would come in handy <3
Stephanie of The TipToe Fairy says
Advil is a must in my purse, too. I definitely carry a lot of the same things!

Haha I don’t have a big enough wallet for all this but I do have a carry bag which has most of this stuff… vitamins, pens, chapstick and pain killers lol

christina aliperti says
This looks just like the contents of my purse. I carry a little bit of everything with me. You never know what you may need while you are out.
Danielle says
I swear by emergen-c this time of year and when I was a teacher. I’d swear you were carrying around my purse just add a few wwe wrestling action figures.
