Kid-Friendly Drink | Easter Mocktail
As we get ready to celebrate Easter this Sunday, I’m scrambling to put together last-minute touches on our teens Easter baskets, dinner ideas, and getting my Easter tablescape ready.
Derrick typically creates a new Easter cocktail each year, and you can check out his new Easter Blue Sunday drink he created for 2019. Another unique dish he created this year was a delicious Spicy Carrot + Chickpea Dip.
Of course, the boys typically ask for us to create something fun for them! So, I came up with a sweet mocktail recipe that will be great for kids and adults. It has pretty spring colors in it, and I added some pastel bubblegum for an extra pop of fun (this is optional).
How to make homemade blueberry simple syrup
For this mocktail recipe, you will need a few ingredients and some ice. You can either make your own blueberry simple syrup, or you can purchase it here.
- 1 cup of blueberries
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of sugar
Directions on how to make blueberry simple syrup
Combine the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and cover with a tight-fitting lid. Then steep for 15-20 minutes.
Ingredients needed to make an Easter Mocktail:
- 2 oz Lemon-Lime Flavored Soda (Sprite or 7-Up)
- 1.5 oz Blueberry Simple Syrup
- 1.5- 2.0 oz of Guava Juice (if you don’t have Guava juice, you can use a Passion Fruit type of juice)
- Ice
- Easter flavored gumballs (optional)
Directions:
- In a tall glass (or 6 oz cup), fill the cup with ice.
- Then add lemon-lime flavored soda, blueberry simple syrup, and guava.
- Top with a little extra blueberry simple syrup and soda.
*Tip: if you want to make this a little sweeter, add in a splash of Pink Cranberry.
Our Easter dinner typically involves a lamb, ribs, or Cornish hens, along with sides, and a few desserts.
This year, instead of spending time creating the ultimate Easter dessert, we hacked an ice cream cake and made it into an Easter cake!
I picked up a Carvel Ice Cream Cake from Walmart. We selected the Ice Cream Cake with Confetti, which made this cake even easier to decorate!
You can see what we used and how we decorated it here.
Our Easter mocktail will be a great addition to your Easter dinner, spring brunch, or even an upcoming baby shower!
