I love a well-mixed Cranberry Moscow Mule Cocktail and what’s even better is mixing up this favorite with a seasonal Christmas spin!
Our Cranberry Mule Cocktail adds muddled fresh mint and cranberry juice to the traditional Moscow Mule recipe and it’s perfectly suited for the holidays no matter how you celebrate!
Cheers!
Cranberry Moscow Mule
Just in time for the holidays, our Cranberry Moscow Mule is both festive and delicious!
It is loaded with all of the traditional ingredients you would expect in a Moscow Mule, with the addition of a few more.
Muddled fresh mint adds a bit of brightness to the combination of your favorite vodka, ginger beer (the spicier the better), and with a healthy splash of tart cranberry juice, this is one cocktail that has the year-end holidays written all over it!
What You Will Need To Make Our Cranberry Mule Cocktail:
Fresh Mint. Muddling fresh mint is an easy way to brighten up a Moscow mule. I use 2-3 large mint leaves and use a muddler to break apart the mint in the bottom of a glass or cocktail shaker.
Mint Syrup. Next, I add the mint syrup, which adds a bit more mint flavor but also acts as a way of sweetening the cocktail as well.
Ice. Adding fresh ice, before you pour over your desired spirit is crucial. When shaken I ice will both properly dilute and chill the cocktail.
Vodka. Use your favorite mixing vodka, don’t worry about using high-end vodka for this cocktail. It’s not worth it, and good vodka will do just fine.
Fresh Lime Juice. The addition of freshly squeezed lime juice adds acid and the citrus flavor elevates the cocktail adding another perfectly paired level of flavor.
Cranberry Juice. I love adding cranberry juice to a Moscow mule, especially during the holidays. It’s an easy way to make this traditional cocktail creation festive and fun! Try adding Cranberry Pomegranate juice to take it to the next level. You won’t regret it!
Wedges of lime, Whole Cranberries, Sprigs of Fresh Mint for garnish.
Can You Make This Cocktail In A Larger Batch?
Absolutely! If you are planning to host a party, go right ahead and make a larger batch. This recipe is for 2 servings, so just adjust the recipe as needed.
Can You Make Cranberry Mules Ahead of Time?
I like to mix and serve the cocktail right after being made. But you can mix and leave out the ginger beer and ice until you are ready to serve. Pour over ice and then top with ginger beer.
This will help prevent the moscow mule from watering down, if the ice were to melt.
Variations to Recipe
- Instead of vodka you can use a white rum or even tequila in replace. It will alter the flavor a bit but still be delicious.
- Make your own homemade mint syrup for added sweetness. Feel free to add more mint to add more of a punch of flavor.
- Instead of a classic cranberry try like a cranberry raspberry for a nice twist of flavor.
What If I Don’t Have A Cocktail Shaker?
Not everyone has a cocktail shaker for making cocktails at home. Feel free to use a mason jar or other type of container with a nice tight sealed lid. Add ice and ingredients in the jar, shake vigorously, and then pour into your glass.
