Holiday Oreo Truffles

How to Make Oreo Truffles
Ingredients for No-Bake Holiday Oreo Truffles
(per 1 truffle, 24 truffles per batch)
For the Truffles
- 18 Oreos
- 4 ounces of cream cheese at room temperature
To Coat
- 12 ounces chocolate chips (see notes)
- Festive sprinkles, optional
Directions:
- Add the Oreo cookies (with the fillings) to the bowl of a food processor. Pulse until they are fine crumbs– about ten pulses.
- Combine the Oreo crumbs and softened cream cheese in a large bowl.
- Roll the truffles into 1” balls– I use a 1 tablespoon cookie scoop to ensure they’re all the same size. Place the truffles in the fridge to chill for 10 minutes.
- Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring between intervals. Dip the truffles, one by one, into the melted chocolate.
- Remove the truffle from the chocolate and allow any excess to drop off. Place the truffle on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- While the chocolate is still wet, add any decorations/sprinkles.
- Allow the chocolate to set fully before enjoying it. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
What Are The Best Oreos To Use
An original Oreo is best to use for making truffles.
Now, you can use classic chocolate Oreos or reach for the Golden Oreos; that would be a delicious duo as well.
Tips for Melting Chocolate
The biggest thing is paying attention and stirring often when it comes to melting chocolate.
Otherwise, you can run into burning the chocolate.
It would be best to stir often when you heat chips in the microwave or a double boiler.
I do 20-30-second increments in the microwave. Then remove the bowl, stir, and heat again.
If your chocolate begins to get stiffer, toss it back in the microwave to reheat it longer!

How To Set Chocolate Up Faster
You can reach for melting chocolate like almond bark to create a crisp chocolate coating.
Or add a teaspoon of shortening to your chocolate chips as you melt.
It will then create a quick setting of the chocolate.
If you don’t want to use melting chocolate or shortening, that’s ok.
Place your truffles on a baking sheet and stick them in the fridge or freezer to speed up the chocolate-setting process.
Variations and Tips for No-Bake Holiday Oreo Truffles
- You can use white chocolate, milk, or semi-sweet for dipping! Have fun and get creative.
- Make sure your cream cheese is softened. Otherwise, it will not mix well with the Oreo crumbs, and you won’t get that creamy texture. You can also put it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds. You want it to be at room temperature.
- Oreo truffles need to be stored in the refrigerator.
- You can add crushed candy canes on top, cookie crumbles, mini chocolate chips, etc. There are so many ways to decorate your truffles.
- You can make these up to 1-2 days in advance when you want to serve them up.
- The truffles can be stored in the freezer for 3-4 months.

Are we using the filling or not? The recepie contradicts itself..
T Worthey says
Hi BP- you can go about it either way- remove the filling, then pulse the Oreo cookies. But in the recipe, you do still add the filling with the Oreo crumbs to the Cream Cheese.
To make it easier, just pulse the entire Oreo cookie with the filling. I updated the wording to make it easier. Thank you!
