In our humble opinion, every Marvel superhero needs a cocktail created in their honor. And so, let us introduce the Captain Marvel Cocktail.
Be careful; it has the ability to go binary, too. You’ve been warned.
Captain Marvel Star Cocktail
Have you seen Captain Marvel yet? I have, and it’s pretty darn good.
But of course, I am a long-time comic book from way back in the day.
I’ve seen a lot of interpretations of Ms. Marvel, but this one is pretty true to form in all of the important ways, or rather, she’s got the goods where it counts.
Initially, when I learned Brie Larsen was playing Carol Danvers, I wasn’t too pleased, but after watching the movie, I must say she did a good job bringing Captain Marvel to life.
I won’t give away any spoilers here, but I will say this: I was inspired by her red, blue, and gold body suit.
And so, without any further introduction, check out our Captain Marvel Star Cocktail.
This is a cocktail I enjoyed creating with its layers of red and blue.
No doubt it’s a pretty stunning cocktail, much like Captain Marvel herself. then, it is topped with a beautiful yellow/gold star. BAM! POW! WHAM-O! KA-POW! SPLAT! OUCH! SLAM!
This cocktail starts with an ounce of blue curacao, and that’s a wonderfully sweet place to start.
You may even wonder if the blue is a nod to the blue Kree blood. Maybe or maybe not.
What I do know is that blue curacao is a solid base for a yummy cocktail.
Next, I add an ounce and a half of quality Blanco tequila.
The tequila is representative of Captain Marvel’s kick-ass capabilities.
Into a cocktail tin, I added lots of ice, blue raspberry vodka, strawberry syrup, and aromatic tonic water.
Using a long-handled bar spoon, I stirred the ingredients vigorously for 30 seconds.
Next, place the bar spoon upside down and as close to the blue curacao and tequila mixture as possible, then gently float the red vodka mixture on top of the blue mixture.
Divide the red mixture between both glasses.
Garnish each cocktail with a yellow or gold candy star threaded on a cocktail stick. Serve.
Here’s to Captain Marvel.
This is a potent cocktail. It looks pretty, but just like its namesake, Captain Marvel, it’ll kick your booty if you aren’t careful!
