What You Will Need To Make Our Blueberry Lavender Lemonade
Lemonade. You can use either a homemade or store-bought lemonade. If you use a store-purchased route for this recipe, add four cups of bottled lemonade and fresh-squeezed one cup of lemon juice for a flavor of homemade lemonade.
Homemade Blueberry Syrup. Adding homemade blueberry syrup to this recipe takes it to the next level.
Use one cup of frozen or fresh blueberries, a cup of sugar, and a single cup of water. Add the ingredients to a medium-sized saucepan over medium-high heat, mash the blueberries using a fork or a potato masher, and bring the mixture to a low boil for five minutes.
Remove the pan from heat to the cooler side of the stovetop, and place a tight-fitting lid on top. Allow the mixture to steep. Store the blueberry syrup in a Mason-jar style glass container and put it into the fridge to chill.
Lavender Simple Syrup. The taste of lavender reminds me of the early months of spring and summer. It’s floral and light, and adding just a little goes a long way.
We like to use the Torani brand of Lavender Syrup. The flavor of lavender adds a dimension to this lemonade that is welcomed all summer long. For a purer syrup, use Torani Puremade Syrup.
Blue Curaçao, Tonic Water, Blueberries, & Mint Ice Cubes. Why add just regular ice cubes to this drink when you can add a little razzle-dazzle. I’ll say this; you won’t be mad!
We added tonic water, blue curaçao, fresh whole blueberries, and mint leaves for this drink and froze them overnight.
Lemon Wedges & Sprigs of Fresh Lavender. When it comes to adding garnish to a drink, you want to accomplish two things, add a little visual interest and compliment the drink with additional elements of flavor. We succeeded on both counts!
