A perfect and refreshing drink for your summer BBQ or a relaxing evening on your deck, cool off with a Dirty Coke Drink.
This drink doesn’t require any alcohol, which makes it a great drink for kids and non-drinkers.
However, you can add rum if you want the rum + coke taste.
If you’re a Coke Lover, you’ll love this dirty coke drink recipe I’m sharing.
I am a true Coca-Cola fan. I wouldn’t say I like it when I go to a restaurant, resort, etc., and they don’t sell Coca-Cola and try to offer me Pepsi. (the horror!)
This recipe is super easy to make, and serving it at your next BBQ, Game Night, or just for a refreshing way to cool you down will hit the spot for you and your guests!
Bottoms up!
What You Will Need
Coke.
Coconut Syrup.
Heavy cream or half and half.

- 2 tbsp Coconut Syrup
- 12 oz Coca-Cola
- juice of half a lime
- top with homemade whipped cream
- garnish with a wedge or two of sliced lime on a cocktail stick
Directions on how to make coconut syrup:
If you can’t find Coconut Syrup, you can make your own using the recipe provided here.
You can also find it at HomeGoods or order online here.
Coconut Syrup: 1 cup sugar + 1 cup water + 2 tsp Coconut Flavor
- Add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar to a pan and bring to a boil stirring occasionally.
- Allow the water and sugar mixture to boil for 3-5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add coconut flavor.
- Allow cooling.
How to make a Dirty Coke Drink:
- Cut the lime into quarter lime wedges.
- Fill the serving glass with ice.
- Add coconut syrup and squeeze two lime wedges over ice.
- Rim the glass with one of the lime wedges.
- Toss the squeezed limes into the glass. Add coke and stir.
- Top with homemade whipped cream.
- Serve.
Side note: If you want to make this drink even dirtier, add 1-2 ounces of white or spiced rum. Cheers!
Can I use Coke Zero or Diet Coke?
Absolutely! If you need or want to use a Coke Zero or diet, go right ahead.
Just make the drink the same way. Of course, you will find the flavor slightly different, but overall you will have the refreshing dirty coke to sip on and enjoy.
Can I use other brands of pop?
I don’t see why you couldn’t use other brands of pop. Coke is the most popular and preferred choice.
Consider the flavor of the pop and how it may pair with the cream and coconut. Feel free to try it out!
Can I make this alcoholic?
You can add 1-2 ounces of rum or even whiskey of choice.
This will give it a nice punch when you sip, a great nightcap for the evening.
Can I make this drink in advance?
No. You will find it is best to make this glass by glass.
That way, you get your half and half on top of the Coke, so when you sip, it gives you the cream and Coke all in one.
If you do a larger pitcher, you will find that the glass’s ratio won’t be the same.
Why did my half-and-half curdle in dirty coke?
The lime juice being acidic, can curdle once combined in the glass.
Take note this is normal, and it will still taste good.
You can use a stirrer to gently mix it up to help break up the curdles if you like.
