Frozen Coconut Margarita
When it’s summertime, you got to have something good to drink.
It’s an unwritten rule of summer, amiright?
We present our Frozen Coconut Margarita!
This is the perfect frozen combo with a tequila and coconut rum splash. A bit of Grand Mariner.
There’s also the citrus tartness of lime juice. To sweeten the deal, we added coconut cream.
And lastly, lots of ice.
All of the ingredients come together to make our delicious Frozen Coconut Margarita!
Here’s What You Need
Tequila. Coconut Rum. Grand Mariner. Okay, these are the alcoholic parts of this delicious cocktail. Be warned, combined into one drink, this is known as a sleeper. Meaning it tastes so good its potency goes unnoticed. You have been warned!
Coconut Cream. Fresh Lime Juice. I am a real fan of REAL Coconut Cream because the coconut flavor is unbelievable, and I love how sweet it is; a little goes a long way. Then there’s the fresh lime juice because when you are after classic margarita flavors, you mustn’t skip the fresh lime juice.
Agave Syrup. I love agave syrup and use it to sweeten many things, especially cocktails. The real plus is that it has a lower glycemic index than table sugar and, surprisingly, even honey. The glycemic index is rated from 1 to 100, and the number indicates how fast your metabolism absorbs glucose (carbohydrates) from the foods you eat. This is important because too much glucose (blood sugar) can damage your body’s organs over time. Consider this: organic blue agave has a glycemic index of around 10-28; table sugar or processed refined sugar has a GI of about 63 to 92, and honey comes in between 37 to 83. Your eyes, heart, feet, and kidneys are susceptible to high blood sugar levels over time.
Ice & Fresh Mint. Of course, this cocktail needs lots of ice and the fresh mint to nice touch in terms of freshness, and a spring of mint makes for a beautiful garnish too!
Frozen Coconut Margarita
A frozen margarita is a must-have for summer.
But I also love a good margarita any day of the week, spring, summer, fall, or winter.

Yes, you are going to need a lot of ice. We love having ice handy with our GE Opal Ice Machine.
I love using organic blue agave in so many of my favorite cocktails.
Instead of simple syrup, try an equal portion of blue agave. You won’t be mad.
What type of Tequila should I use?
When it comes to tequila, I am using a blanco or white tequila.
White tequila is known as silver or young tequila, which is in its purest form.
There are mainly three types of tequila; Blanco tequila is unaged, whereas Reposado is aged anywhere from two (2) to twelve (12) months.
And Añejo is aged over twelve months; there’s also an extra Añejo which is rare; these are aged up to three years.
Can I make this cocktail ahead of time?
You can mix the ingredients and have them on standby in the fridge.
When you are ready to serve, blend the mixture with ice in a blender and serve immediately.
I don’t drink alcohol. Can I make this into a mocktail?
Absolutely! Here are a few options that I highly recommend.
Ritual Zero Proof Tequila Substitute
Dhos Orange Non-Alcoholic Liquor
