The Whitetail: Jamaican Rum Coffee Cocktail
When is the best time to indulge in a delicious coffee cocktail? The short answer is anytime. If you love coffee as much as I do, then it’s an easy sell. However, if I had my druthers, I prefer coffee cocktails with brunch or earlier in the evening during cocktail hour.
But as always, do you; can’t nobody tell you when it is the perfect time to enjoy a coffee cocktail but you! So regardless of the time, remember, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere!
Here’s What You Will Need To Make Our Jamaican Rum Coffee Cocktail
Rum. I have made this coffee cocktail with both Jamaican or dark rum, and it comes down to preference. I find the richer molasses notes of Jamaican, and dark rums in general, pair incredibly well with cold brew coffee.
Bourbon Liqueur. Right now, bourbon liqueurs are having a moment, and I am here for it! So much luxurious creaminess and riding just beneath the warm yumminess of bourbon whiskey is an absolute killer combination. And in this coffee cocktail, it’s the presence of bourbon liqueur that ties this coffee cocktail together neat as a bow!
Cold Brew Coffee. For this recipe, I used pre-made cold brew nitrogen-infused black Arabica coffee. The nitrogen infusion allows for a bit of froth when shaken and poured. The froth contrasts nicely with the cocktail.
Coffee Liqueur. Coffee Bitters & Maple Syrup. To balance out this cocktail and add an abundance of complimentary flavors, I add coffee liqueur, coffee bitters, and a tad of sweetness, a little bit of maple syrup.
Light Brown Sugar & Cinnamon. We mixed a light brown sugar and ground cinnamon to create a sweet and spice rim that looks cool and adds a bit of sweetness with every sip.
