And wouldn’t you know the Black Panther movie and our Vibranium cocktail have a few things in common?

How so? Well, for one, they are both visually stunning. 

Secondly, beauty aside, both are also intensely potent. Rest assured; this movie isn’t just another film based on a comic book character.

The Black Panther movie will win your heart with its well-written screenplay, the performances of an exceptional cast and crew, mind-blowing special effects, and all of this orchestrated under the knowing hand of the accomplished director Ryan K. Coogler (you can read about Coogler’s thoughts as the director of Black Panther here).

The Black Panther movie is art imitating life, tackling centuries-old crevices regarding racial inequality, social injustice, cultural stagnation, and the entrenched and systematic impediments we are still trying to dismantle.

Yes, it’s a lot, but you can’t stop a pop-cultural African superhero from addressing these real-life issues. To do so would be both incredulous and unauthentic.

You can now drink social relevancy 

The revolution may or may not be televised, but now you can at least drink it! Yes, it is with the spirit of African unity, love, and a commitment to reaching out to help our own that the Vibranium cocktail was created.

And we like to imagine that our creation also embodies some of the qualities of the Wakanda precious metal. According to the Marvel database, vibranium is a nearly indestructible metal, lightweight, and absorbing energy.

We like to think our vibranium cocktail possesses all these attributes in theory.

Well, maybe not, but symbolically we like to think, much like vibranium, our delicious cocktail is one of a kind; it is a refreshingly light aperitif with forward fruit flavor and serious, yet subtle, vodka undertones.

Plus, it packs a wallop- so please respect the drinkable vibranium!

Ultimately, this is a visually stunning drink crafted with a woman consumer in mind. It is baby pastel blue, beautiful even, with potency and strength (much like the Dora Milaje).

So, if you are throwing a Black Panther viewing party, this would be ideal.

Black Panther Cocktail | The Hpnotiq Cocktail

Ingredients:

Serves 1

• 2 ounces Hypnotiq
• 2 ounces of Strawberry Italian Soda
• 1 ounce  Mango Rum
• 1 ounce Grand Marnier Liqueur
• 1 tablespoon Curaçao liqueur
• Strawberry Garnish
• Orange Slice Garnish
• Ice

Directions:

1. Add several ice cubes in a cocktail glass, Hynotiq, strawberry Italian Soda, mango rum, Grand Marnier liqueur, and Curaçao liqueur.
2. Stir vigorously with a long-handled bar spoon and strain into a standard rocks glass filled with chiseled ice.
3. Garnish with fresh strawberries and an orange slice. Serve.

• 1 tablespoon Curaçao liqueur
